IUAC Summer Project Programme for B.Sc. (Physics) Students

IUAC organizes annual Summer Project Program for students studying in second/third year B.Sc. (Physics /Applied Physics) / integrated M.Sc. (Physics /Applied Physics) in any Indian college /university /institute. The program aims to give a glimpse of hands-on research opportunities in various branches of experimental physics such as Accelerator Physics, Atomic and Molecular Physics, Material Science, Nuclear Physics and Accelerator Mass Spectrometry. The selected students are expected to work on a research project under the supervision of Scientists/ Engineers at IUAC. A few special evening lectures by eminent Physicists/ Scientists of the country and a guided tour of the experimental facilities of IUAC will also be a part of the program.

Students are required to submit a Project Report validated by the project supervisor upon the successful completion of the project. There will be a presentation by the students about their work done on the last day of the program. Three best presentations will be selected and will be awarded certificate of merit. Participation certificate will be given to all the participating students of the program.

All the selected candidates who will take part in the summer project program will be provided TA (AC III-tier train fare, by producing the copy of the ticket) and free boarding and lodging at IUAC. Boarding will be provided on a twin sharing basis in IUAC hostel /guest houses.

Interested students need to apply online with necessary details on the announcement of the program every year during March-April. Applications cannot be submitted by post or through email. Due to the large number of applications received every year, the selection of suitable candidates will be done strictly on the basis of merit. The decision of the selection committee will be final.
